Richard Dukellis, IPMA-CP, is
currently the Human Resources Manager with the City of La Mesa
(San Diego County), California and has more than 25 years of experience
working in the Human Resources field in the Public Sector. Of
particular interest are labor relations, benefit administration,
training and classification/compensation. A graduate of the San
Diego State Department of Public Administration, Richard has been
active in IPMA-HR since 1986 as a Charter Member of the San Diego
International Chapter. He served in a variety of roles over the
years including President from 1998 to 2000.
Serving in a series of Western Region positions,
Richard was the Western Region President in 2005-2006 and is currently
on the National IPMA-HR Executive Council as the Western Region
Representative and served on the IPMA-HR Strategic Plan Committee.
Richard had significant participation in three
highly successful Western Region IPMA-HR conferences including
two in San Diego (Program Chair and Exhibitor Chair) and in Portland
as the Western Region IPMA-HR President. He is currently part
of a team that is planning and organizing the 2010 Western Region
Conference in San Diego.
Richard is a California native who enjoys travel
(especially tied to sporting events throughout the US), family
activities including kids' team sports and scouts, and enjoys
mountain biking. He is spoiled by living in San Diego where the
climate is beautiful all year long!
