Cecile
Morris has been employed by the University of California, Santa
Cruz since October 2000. She is a Sr. HR Partner supporting the
Division of Student Affairs supervising a staff of 7 HR professionals
who advise campus constituencies on comprehensive HR issues. She
collaborated with colleagues to develop and deliver several campus
workshops including “Supervisory Development”, “Recruiting, Orienting
and Training Your Staff”, “Supervising Students” and “Performance
Management.” Prior to coming to the University she worked for almost
10 years in management and HR for NovaCare Inc., a National Rehabilitation
Company, where she provided a broad range of human resources services
including international recruiting. She is a Development Dimensions
International (DDI) and Managing Personal Growth (MPG) certified
facilitator. She started her career as a health and fitness consultant
in Honolulu speaking at local and national conferences on program
development for the fitness professional. She has her MBA and JD
and has her SPHR-CA certification. She was recently asked to sit
on the panel for Human Resource Certification Institute to develop
questions for the newly created HRCI California certification. She
has been accepted into the PhD program at Capella University in
Business and Technology with an emphasis in HR beginning January
