Dr. Traaen is the former President for the Western Region IPMA-HR, having concluded her leadership role in June 2007. She is now the owner and CEO of Traaen & Associates, LLC, a full service human resources management and training company based in Arizona. She has over three decades of human resources executive service leading HR teams in municipal government, K-12 public education and a rural community college system in Arizona. She is also adjunct faculty for the Arizona State University School of Public Affairs, teaching in the fields of human resource management, ethics, organization development and leadership for that institution. She also serves as Director of Advocacy/Assistant to the Bishop for the Grand Canyon Synod of the ELCA. In this role she is a registered lobbyist working on the issues of immigration and health care reform at the state Legislature. Her current research work is in the field of unprincipled leadership and her next book will be on the role of human resources professionals in navigating an organization through unprincipled leadership.
