Independent Work

  • Complete the privilege exercise, and consider how your experiences impact your HR leadership styles; suggest to all people managers within their agencies
  • Review resource on white dominant culture, and consider relationship between content and the norms, policies, and systems within your agency
  • Employee engagement questions to consider in the coming week:
  • Who do your policies protect?
  • Do you regularly engage employees about their experience?
  • What has any past employee education and engagement on inclusion looked like (either formal or informal)?
  • Has any concrete data (like employee surveys) been collected since the pandemic began?
  • What regular employee engagement survey plan needs to be created or updated to measure inclusion? (Consider Culture Amp Inclusion Starter Kit as a resource)

We have also scheduled informal discussion sessions to continue the conversations.  Informal Discussion Session Questions are:

  • What would an equitable and inclusive workplace look like in this field?
  • What are barriers that you or others experience in creating diverse and inclusive teams?
  • What are steps you can take now as an individual? As a collective professional group?
  • What resources or training would support you and your team’s ongoing efforts?

These conversations are scheduled from 12 noon-1:00 pm Pacific time on:

            October 26 (Facilitator: Paula Adams)

            October 30 (Facilitator: Paula Adams)

November 3 – A break from election day – (Facilitator: Sonja Stanchina)

November 5 – (Facilitator: Sonja Stanchina)
